Market + Apothecary Tender

(2 Weekend Positions)

Woodland Wellness is growing, and we’re looking for weekend team members to join us at our farmers markets and new Apothecary Bar inside Upper West Market (a new year-round, indoor farmers market complex).

This role is like a hybrid of a juice bar barista + herbal apothecary guide.

Think + envision: making a really good herbal latte or sparkling tonic one minute, then helping someone choose an herbal extract, salve, or digestive formula the next. You’ll be talking with people, making things with your hands, learning about herbs and food as medicine, and helping customers find products that actually make sense for their unique needs.

You don’t need to be an herbalist, but you should have some experience or genuine passion for wellness — whether that’s nutrition, fitness, natural health, holistic health, supplements, bodywork, or something similar. Experience with herbalism and herbal products is a big plus. We’ll teach you our products and how we use them, but we’re looking for someone who is naturally curious, comfortable talking with people, and genuinely excited about health and wellness.

Roles We’re Hiring For:

1) Saturday + Sunday Market Tender

  • Saturdays:
    • 7:00am–1:00pm at Peachtree Road or Freedom Farmers Market
    OR
    • 10:00–6:30pm at Upper West Market

  • Sundays:
    • 9:30am–6:30pm (atUpper West Market)

2) Saturday Market Tender

  • Saturdays:
    • 7:00am–1:00pm at Peachtree Road or Freedom Farmers Market
    OR
    • 10:00–6:30pm at Upper West Market

Availability to float and cover additional shifts when needed is a strong plus.

All roles require reliable weekend availability and a minimum commitment through December 2026.

What you’ll be doing:

At our Farmers Markets, you’ll set up and break down our booth, make and serve our fresh herbal beverages, offer samples, ring people up, and talk with customers about our herbal products and food medicines. You’ll help people figure out what they’re looking for without making the interaction feel like a sales pitch. You’ll also keep the booth stocked, organized, and looking beautiful while things are moving quickly.

At Upper West Market, you’ll be doing a little bit of everything. You might be making a sparkling tonic or golden milk for one customer, helping another person choose an herbal extract or tea, restocking the apothecary shelves, answering questions about our products, or helping someone find a good place to start with their wellness goals. You’ll also open or close the stall, keep the bar and retail space clean and organized, and make sure the day runs smoothly.

Across all shifts, we’re looking for someone who shows up on time, notices what needs to be done without always being asked, takes ownership of their work, and is a great teammate. You’ll be one of the faces of Woodland Wellness, so being warm, engaged, and genuinely interested in people is a big part of the job.

Compensation:

  • $15/hour + tips
    Most team members average $20–$29/hour after tips and bonuses

  • Customer service or sales experience is important.

    Food + beverage, wellness, herbalism, farming, or other hands-on roles are a plus.

    Formal herbal training is not required, but you should have some personal or professional exposure to holistic health or wellness and be comfortable learning quickly and speaking confidently about what you’re sharing.

  • This is an active, physical role! You’ll lift heavy coolers and product boxes (it’s imperative to be able to lift a full, 65 lb cooler into and out of our market van), work outdoors at markets in varying weather, and stand for several hours while engaging with customers.

    We are a small, close-knit team that works hard and genuinely enjoys working together - or else, what’s the point? There’s a lot collaboration and shared responsibility on any given shift. We take our work seriously, but we also value humor, connection, and enjoying the rhythm of the day.
